I learnt ballet as a child
in Oxford at the Tetlow Hulme Ballet Studio.
As ‘Head
Student’ I often helped out with teaching the younger
children, which is where my love of teaching began. After
dancing professionally for a short time, I trained as a teacher
at the College of the Royal Academy of Dance.
Here I gained my Teaching Diploma and Licentiate, and my degree
from the University of Durham. I also hold Associate membership
of the ISDT in National Dance, and Associate membership of
the IDTA.
I regularly attend courses on Early Dance and like
to explore other subjects or dance styles which may complement
the children’s learning.
I founded St Mary’s School of Dance in 1986.
